The Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich

My wife threw out all of our nonstick cooking pans, so I’m stuck using the regular thing. It’s probably better for our health, but they’re so hard to clean. Every time I use one of the regular pans, I end up with a bunch of food stuck to it. That especially happens with eggs. My solution is to avoid the pans as much as possible.

I’m all about eating well, making little mess and maximizing my time. That’s why I love my breakfast sandwich. It’s awesome. It’s simple.

I want to share it with you because it may change your morning. Pair it with a cup of coffee and feel good about yourself all day long. You can do it.

Here’s what you need:

  • One egg
  • Wheat English muffin
  • Cheese (slice or shredded)
  • Slice of ham, turkey or bacon (optional for vegetarians)
  • Tomato
  • Basil
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Mayonnaise
  • Small ramekin
  • Toaster
  • Microwave

Now let’s make it.

  1. Start by cracking the egg into the ramekin and stirring it a little to break the yolk.
  2. Place the ramekin with the egg in the microwave on high for 30 seconds.
  3. Throw your English muffin in the toaster while waiting for the egg to finish.
  4. When the egg is done, pull it out and layer on your cheese (still in the ramekin). Cover the ramekin, egg and cheese with a paper towel to keep it from blowing up in your microwave.
  5. Put ramekin with egg and cheese (covered by paper towel) back into the microwave for another 30 seconds.
  6. Slice a tomato.
  7. When your english muffin is toasted, lightly spread mayonnaise on one piece.
  8. When the egg is done, use a fork to remove the egg from the ramekin and place it one side of the english muffin.
  9. Sprinkle some basil, salt and pepper on your egg.
  10. Stack your ham and tomatoes on the egg.
  11. Top it off with the other side of your English muffin and enjoy.

The clean up is so easy. It’s cheap to make. And, it’s relatively healthy.

I hope you like it. Let me know what you think.
