Are you an Intentional Dad?

“What’s easy to do is also easy not to do.” – Jim Rohn

Here is a list of what I think makes up the Intentional Dad.  Remember, this isn’t all about being just dad.  It’s about being true to your body and mind, your friends, your spouse and of course your kids.

Intentional Dads…

  • Dedicate time with their kids
  • Take their wives on dates
  • Pursue their own passions
  • Teach their kids self confidence and humility
  • Take care of their bodies with physical activity
  • Seek learning and knowledge about many topics
  • Read books often
  • Enjoy their work
  • Eat well most of the time
  • Always in control
  • Pursue great experiences
  • Save money
  • Take time for hobbies
  • Find time for themselves
  • Seek progress
  • Have good friends who are also Intentional Dads
  • Embrace their emotions
  • Share struggles with a select group of friends who hold them accountable
  • Make faith and spirituality a priority

Being the Intentional Dad takes intention all the time.   As Jim Rohn says, “what’s easy to do is also easy not to do.” Recognize that life is more than just fatherhood.  It’s all of the things listed above. Life is rich and rewarding, tough and disappointing.  The Intentional Dad makes lifestyle choices that lead to long-lasting rewards in spirit, health, happiness and love.  Along the way make some money, take risks, try new things and love being who you are.
